Anıtkabir, the eternal resting place of the founder of our Republic, the Great Leader Atatürk, is located in the central part of Ankara. Anıtkabir, which unites people with love and longing on holidays and on November 10, allows us to express our gratitude once again to our ancestor.
The road starting from the entrance to Anıtkabir to the Ceremony Square in the middle is called the “Lion Road”. This road was built to prepare the visitors to Atatürk’s supreme presence. The road is reached by 26-step ladder.
The most important part of Anıtkabir is the Mausoleum. The Mausoleum, which is climbed from the Ceremony Square with a 42-step staircase, is a two-storey rectangular building.
In Anıtkabir, under the hall of honor where Atatürk’s mausoleum is located, there is the Atatürk and the War of Independence Museum established on an area of 3 thousand square meters.
Especially with different techniques exhibit Canakkale, Sakarya, Great Attack and the Commander in Chief Muharebeleri offers the founding years of the Republic of Turkey and Atatürk period dramatically.
